Alok

Alok is a Market Researcher at ALEX based out of Toronto, Canada. He is in his final year in an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science (BSc Hons.) at the University of Toronto. Alongside his work assisting Jeroen at ALEX, he works as a Research Assistant at the Citizen Lab. His current research interests include internet governance in the global south, and algorithmic accountability on social media platforms. Often caffeinated, with little time to spare, you will catch him riding his 60 year old bike in cold, cold Toronto.

Giulia Corona

Giulia is collaborating on ALEX project after a master’s degree in Communication Design in Milan. Her research interests are focused on information design, anthropology of consumption and mass communication, socioinformatics and the role of cyberporn in the development of the Internet and in shaping society. She supports freedom of knowledge as well as feminist and environmental actions.
Leonardo Sanna

Leonardo Sanna

Leonardo Sanna is PhD fellow at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) since November 2018, working on Big Data analysis from a semiotic perspective. In his research he deals with a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods in social media analysis. Currenlty he is studying, on Facebook, the two phenomena known as “filter bubble” and “echo chamber”. In particular, he is working on the fbTREX dataset.

Laura Swietlicki

Laura Swietlicki is a French student in graphic design in the master of La Martinière Diderot school (Lyon). Her projects focus on the role of graphic design into the mediation of social phenomena, sociological topics, news and information. With this in mind, she has an interest in data visualisation.
